‍Grading Policy

AiCE Undergraduate  Program
B.Eng. in AiCE requires instructors to grade every assessment/skill on a consistent scale from 0 to 100. If an assessment activity addresses multiple skills, the instructor provides a 0-100 score for each skill. These might not be the same for each skill, depending on the student’s capabilities with regard to each skill as demonstrated in the assessment activity. When all the required skills for a competency have been assessed, the system computes and stores a mastery level. Mastery levels are defined as 'A' (Legend), B, C, D (Insufficient).

AiCE Graduate Program

M.S.AiCE follows the following letter grade scale. The letter grade scale is ‘A’ (highest), ‘A-‘, ‘B+’, ‘B’, ‘B-‘, ‘C+’, ‘C’, ‘C-‘, ‘D+’, ‘D’, and ‘R’ (lowest). Grades lower than ‘B-’, meaning C or below, are considered failures in the AiCE doctoral program and will not count toward degree requirements. Individual instructors may decide to omit some of the intermediate grade levels (plus or minus levels).

‍ECE Graduate Program

‍ECE follows the following letter grade scale. The letter grade scale is 'A' (highest for students), 'A-', 'B+', 'B', 'B-', 'C+', 'C', 'C-', 'D+', 'D', and 'R' (lowest). Students cannot receive an 'A+' grade on their transcript, even if a course is taken from another college where 'A+' is given. For the ECE M.S. program, grades lower than ‘C’, meaning ‘C-‘ or below, will not count toward the degree requirements. For the ECE Ph.D. program, grades lower than ‘B-’, meaning C+ or below, will not count toward the degree requirements.

TCI Graduate Program

‍M.S.TCI follows the CMKL University grading policy with letter grades ‘A’ (highest), ‘A-’, ‘B+’, ‘B’, ‘B-’, ‘C+’, ‘C’, ‘C-’, ‘D+’, ‘D’, and ‘R’ (lowest). Grades lower than C, meaning C- and below, are considered failing grades and will not be counted toward the degree requirements. Required courses, core courses and capstone projects, must be passed with a letter grade of B- or above. If students fail to achieve the passing grade, they have the option to either retake the same course or take another course in its place.
