Job Summary: We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Director of Human Resources (HR) to lead and enhance our university’s HR functions. This role requires a leader capable of aligning HR practices with the university’s goals, overseeing core HR activities, and fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the university’s mission and goals.
- Oversee core HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management.
- Design and implement compensation, benefits, and performance management systems that attract and retain top talent.
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, promoting an inclusive campus culture.
- Manage HR budgets, optimize resources, and ensure cost-effective delivery of HR services.
- Serve as the primary HR advisor, providing guidance on complex issues and acting as a liaison between HR and university leadership.
- Utilize HR analytics to inform strategic decisions and measure HR effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and industry standards relevant to educational institutions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Experience: 8-10 years of HR leadership experience, ideally in higher education or a similarly structured organization, with expertise across HR functions.
- HR Expertise: Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and regulatory compliance; experience in DEI, compensation, and benefits management.
- Leadership & Strategy Development: Strategic HR planning skills with a demonstrated ability to drive initiatives that support organizational goals.
- Communication Skills: Strong proficiency in English, with experience in writing reports, policy documents, and facilitating effective employee relations.
- Interpersonal & Cultural Sensitivity: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to mediate, resolve conflicts, and build trust across diverse employee groups.
- Data & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in HR analytics and data-driven decision-making to support effective HR strategy.
- Financial & Budgetary Skills: Experience managing HR budgets and optimizing resources within financial constraints.
