Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Information Technology (IT) to lead and manage our university’s IT operations, digital transformation, and technology infrastructure. This key leadership role involves shaping our IT vision, delivering reliable and secure IT services, and driving innovation in digital learning technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the university’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Oversee all IT functions, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, academic software, and digital learning technologies.
  • Lead major IT projects, including network enhancements, cybersecurity initiatives, cloud computing transitions, and enterprise application updates.
  • Ensure IT compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards, including GDPR.
  • Manage IT budgets and optimize resource allocation to meet service and innovation needs within budgetary constraints.- Build, lead, and develop a skilled IT team, fostering a collaborative and proactive IT culture.
  • Serve as the primary IT liaison, communicating complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and providing strategic insights to senior leadership.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices for data security, digital access, and incident response.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: 8-10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in a higher education or similar organization, with proven success managing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation projects.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of IT systems, networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital learning tools; familiarity with data management and academic software is highly desirable.
  • Project Management & Leadership: Strong project management and organizational skills, with a track record of managing large, cross-functional projects.
  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in English, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong collaborative mindset, able to foster a proactive and service-oriented IT culture.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Abilities: High-level analytical thinking with a proactive approach to addressing technical and strategic challenges.
