AI Innovator Award 2023 Pitch Competition by CMKL University is Open!

Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering(AiCE) Program at CMKL University is delighted to present “AI Innovator Award 2023 Pitch Competitions”. We are looking for original and innovative ideas on meaningful technological solutions to shape a better world with AI. We want you to share your vision, highlighting the importance of the AI Engineering discipline to create AI systems in accordance with human needs under the topic of "𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝑨𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 & 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆?". Young enthusiasts are eligible to participate in this challenge. Contestants can join as individual or team entries. The candidates have to share their vision, highlighting the importance of the AI Engineering discipline to create AI systems in accordance with human needs that create positive change in the community.

There will be 3 rounds of the competitions;

Round 1: The Video Pitch

Contestants must submit a video pitch sharing their idea toward AI for the benefit of humanity. Contestants must focus on Health and Wellness domain.

•Contestants must share their ideas in English, through a video recording no longer than 5 minutes.

•This video must be uploaded to YouTube and set to the public. Add hashtags on your video #AiInnovatorAward23 #PitchCompetitions #CMKL #AiCE

Competition Timeline: July 17 - September 6, 2023

Round 2: Elevator Pitch & Network

Contestants must deliver an “elevator pitch” that communicates the idea and concept quickly and effectively on stage at a CMKL Open House event on September 30, 2023, at CMKL University. This round focuses on the contestants’ persuasiveness and public presentation skills. Contestants must deliver an “elevator pitch” (120 seconds) that communicates their idea/concept quickly and effectively. The pitch will take place live, on stage at a CMKL Open House event, CMKL University. During the competition event, the contestants will have an opportunity to mingle with the audience and share their ideas.

Round 3: Demo the Prototype

This round allows the contestants to show their passion towards their pitch in a presentation performance for a live audience. If appropriate, the contestants may demonstrate prototypes of their idea. During this round, the contestants will be expected to use visual media or theatrical-visual performance to express their idea/concept and explain how it will positively impact the community and human society. Each contestant or team will have up to 5 minutes to present their idea. Then the audience will have the opportunity to vote for the contestant that delivers the best presentation.

Competition & Awards Announcement Timeline: December 7, 2023 at CMKL University Tech Summit Event

The applications will be evaluated on their uniquenes, innovation, feasibility, technology integration, presentation, ethics and the positive impact on people and society.

*The competition is free and open to the public. Those wishing to participate in the pitch competition must complete an application and be selected.

‍

🏆 Awards:

‍•The winning idea submissions will get a prize of 100,000 THB and the “AI Innovator Award 2023” trophy for individual and school.

🖋️Competition Eligibility

•Young enthusiasts including high school students/school representatives are eligible to participate in this challenge.

•You must be between the ages of fifteen (15) years and twenty-two (22) by the due date of the application. Anyone who is younger than 15 or over 22 by the due date of the application will not be considered in this competition.

•You can join as Individual or team entries. Participants can have only one entry (individual or team member).

🖋️Team Requirements

•Maximum three (3) members per team.

•Participants can join only one team.

•Teams must be formed at time of entry.

•Cash prizes will be equally distributed among all team members.

📝Judging Criteria:

•Innovation: How unique is the concept in comparison to other submissions or existing AI applications? The concept should be original and creative.

•Feasibility: How feasible is it to build this notion in the near future? The idea must be realistic and logical.

•Technology: How has the concept made use of AI and computing technology? Can you identify relevant technical concepts or key components of the technology required to complete your vision?

•Presentation: How well and imaginatively have you presented the concept? How creative is your pitch and the idea presentation.

•Ethical: How well does this concept adhere to the ethical AI principles? How have they taken into account all four components: Fairness, Inclusiveness, Reliability, and Accountability.
