You are invited to our CMKL's Special Talk episode 10 the next Thursday in the topic:

“Navigating The (Complex) World of Music Rights”

Have you ever wondered where your money goes when you choose to listen to a song?

This talk will cover publishing, licensing, royalties, and the difference between Master rights and Song rights. We will examine how the record labels and publishers monetize the music that you listen to every day, how splits and placements in films work, and the role of music supervisors. Discussions will address the big players in the music industry (Sony Music, Universal Music, Warner Music Group, Sony/ATV, & UMPG) as well as indie record labels’ business strategy. Topics to be examined include copyright law, label and publishing agreements with artists, and backend monetization of assets.

🎤This talk will be given by Ms. Natasha Patamapongs, Program Director at Entertainment Innovation Center (EIC), CMKL University.

She has 12 years of experience in the music industry, was a Warner Music Artist, and has worked for LOVEiS Entertainment as the General Manager of a sub-label Phat Cat Records. She is also the founder, singer, and producer of Thailand-based jazz band Mellow Motif and was listed on CNN Travel Asia as one of the "Top 20 People to Watch" in Thailand. She has produced music, short films, and shows for clients across industries.
