Faculty, staff, family, friends, and university leaders joined our graduates to celebrate their hard-earned achievements at the CMKL Commencement Ceremony on May 20, 2023. The two-hour-long ceremony brought laughter, joy, and many meaningful moments of reflection among all the attendees. Cheers went up among the crowd when Dr.Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC), and the Advisory Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Board of The Friends in Need (of "Pa") Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross, in his brief remarks urged the graduates to "Stay curious, stay open-minded, remain compassionate, and never stop learning". Among smiles and cheers, he continued, "Your time at CMKL has no doubt fostered these qualities in you, and without a doubt, you would contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous future for everyone in this world."
Dr. Supan Tungjitkusolmun, President of CMKL University, has taken the stage to remind the graduates to “Apply the knowledge you have gained here to serve humanity”. Among the delightful atmosphere, he once again congratulated our class of 2023 and reminded them that “Sucess is not measured by destination but by the effort and perseverance put into the journey." "The world needs your unique talents and compassion in order to advance into a sustainable future” he continued. “Whether it is through research, technology, business, volunteering, or simply being kind to those around you, each of us has the power to make a difference.”
At CMKL University, we strive to educate the next generation of engineers and leaders in the fields of technology and innovation. Education is one of the most important aspects of future development and the backbone of a well-functioning society. As such, we work to provide the foundations which empower students to pursue their goals and affect positive change. We frame ideology into action, not words, to engender change and sustainable development for Thailand and the greater world.
As our valedictorian for the Electrical and Computer Engineering program, Kietthibhum Boonchuay remarked during his speech "I believe that each and every one of us has the potential to make a positive impact on the world". He continued, "Let us use our talents and skills to create a better future for ourselves and for those around us". On the other hand, our valedictorian for the Technology and Creative Innovation program, Mr.Chaianant Sranpat, stated, "We may not know what the future holds, but we have each other, and that's what matters most." The days spent at the university have given our students valuable lifelong lessons in companionship that will accompany them throughout the rest of their journey.
Looking back
For all of our graduating students, and as Dr.Surakiart Sathirathai kindly reminded us in his speech, "Graduation is one of the most critical milestones in our lives, but it is also just the beginning." From here on out, we wish all of our graduates the most beautiful future and an incredible journey ahead. As our alumni do stay connected with our community, we are here to support you in any way we can.
