Dr. Teerakiat Jareonsettasin is a prominent Thai educator, psychiatrist, and former Minister of Education, recognized for his leadership in shaping the nation’s educational policies and fostering innovation. Serving as Minister of Education from 2016 to 2019, he championed student-centered learning, teacher development, and international benchmarking to elevate Thailand’s education standards.

Currently, Dr. Teerakiat holds several influential positions:

• President of the Thai – Bharat Cultural Lodge Association (TBCL)

• President & Dean of Newton Business School, Bangkok, Thailand

• Executive Chairman of The Newton Education Group

• President of the Foundation for Good Kids, Thailand

• President of the Foundation for Microeconomics of Competitiveness (MOC) Isan

• Member of the Board of Trustees, Carnegie Mellon – King Mongkut Lardkrabang (CMKL) University, Thailand

Previously, he served as the Chancellor of the University Council at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI), where he guided strategic initiatives for academic and institutional advancement. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Governors for The Newton Sixth Form, The Essence, The Openschool, The Sathya Sai School, and The Newton Business School in Thailand, promoting innovative curricula and holistic student development.

A steadfast advocate for improving educational outcomes, Dr. Teerakiat served as Chairman of the National PISA Committee, leading nationwide efforts to enhance academic performance and competitiveness. He has also been deeply involved in youth empowerment and character development through his role as President of the Foundation for Good Kids.

In higher education, Dr. Teerakiat is a Board Member at CMKL University and contributes his expertise to the Faculty for the Microeconomics of Competitiveness (MOC) affiliate at Harvard Business School. Through these roles, he continues to shape Thailand’s educational landscape, inspiring transformative learning experiences and driving progress across various academic and policy domains.
