NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute Releases New Accelerated Data Science Teaching Kit for Educators

        In the ever-changing world plus with the booming of data science, there’s rapidly increasing demand for

abilities to assist in designing the best solutions of data science. In the meantime, these developments,

which competence can run, demand educators who have the foundational tools including programming

languages, computing frameworks and libraries.

        For that reason, NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute has collaborated with Polo Chau, from the Georgia

Institute of Technology, and Xishuang Dong, from Prairie View A&M University, two highly regarded

researchers and educators in the fields of data science and accelerating data analytics with GPUs, to

launched the first version of Accelerated Data Science Teaching Kit for qualified students.

“Data science unlocks the immense potential of data in solving societal challenges and large-scale complex problems across virtually every domain, from business, technology, science and engineering to healthcare, government and many more,” Chau said.

And here, there are modules that are contained in this first edition of the Accelerated Data Science Teaching Kit:

• Introduction to Data Science and RAPIDS
• Data Collection and Pre-processing (ETL)
• Data Ethics and Bias in Data Sets
• Data Integration and Analytics
• Data Visualization
• Distributed Computing with Hadoop, Hive, Spark and RAPIDS

        Regardless, more modules are planned for future releases and lecture videos will be added for all modules

in the next released edition.

        Not only the entire modules cover lecture notes and slides, examination problem sets but the majority

of modules also comprise hands-on labs including datasets and sample solutions in Python and interactive

Jupyter notebook formats. Additionally, DLI Teaching Kit comes with the accessible GPU sources in Amazon

Web Services credits as well as free DLI online, self-paced courses and certification opportunities for all

educators and their students.

“Data science is such an important field of study, not just because it touches every domain and vertical, but also because data science addresses important societal issues relating to gender, race, age and other ethical elements of humanity,” said Dong, the director of Historically Black College/University.

This is the fourth teaching kit launched by the DLI which as part of the existing program of 7,000 qualified students.
