On September 12, 2024, CMKL University celebrated a historic moment as the first institution in Asia to receive the NVIDIA HGX H200 PoC GPU server, thanks to a thriving partnership with SIAM AI. This milestone is not just about acquiring a piece of advanced technology; it's about paving the way for a brighter future in AI development across Thailand.
SIAM AI, which has earned the distinction of becoming the first Thai-owned NVIDIA Cloud Partner, is the first to bring such technology to our shores. The arrival of the HGX H200 at CMKL University—part of the larger NVIDIA HGX H100 1,024-GPU cluster—marks a new chapter for our academic community. This advancement will enable faculty and students to expand their research capabilities exponentially by diving into ambitious projects that were previously constrained by computational limitations. High-computing-power AI tasks, such as image recognition, natural language processing, and speech analysis, can now be performed with speed and efficiency.
During the event, we had the pleasure of meeting representatives from SIAM AI, sharing visions of how this technology could reshape not just our university but also the broader AI landscape in Thailand and beyond. CMKL students, working alongside AIEI, are in a privileged position to experiment with this advanced GPU technology in their research and development projects.This hands-on experience will undoubtedly distinguish them as future leaders in the field.
The executives and attendees also had the chance to tour the campus, view demonstrations of ongoing AI projects, and get a sneak peek at upcoming efforts, including work in multi-modal language development for Thai.
