To provide consumers with fresher products, researchers from CMKL and Carnegie Mellon University have been working with ThaiBev to design a system that allows businesses to remain up to date on customer inventory. Through the use of image processing, stock deficiencies will automatically be relayed without the need for an individual to input an order. If the inventory flow can be approximated more accurately and in a timely manner through the use of common surveillance cameras, stock can be managed more effectively without the need for special equipment. With the ability to more accurately predict consumer demands, businesses are able to maintain more accurate inventory levels and avoid stocking an excess of goods that may expire.
