On July 18, a high-level delegation from CMKL University, led by Prof. Suchatchavee Suwansawat, Chair of the Board; Dr. Teerakiat Jareonsettasin, Board Member; President Supan Tungjitkusolmun; Vice President Orathai Sangpetch; and Program Director Akkarit Sangpetch, visited Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Engineering to advance the long-standing academic partnership between the two institutions.

Throughout the day, the delegation engaged in productive discussions with Carnegie Mellon leaders, including Prof. José M. F. Moura, University Professor and former Vice President for Research; Prof. Jim Garrett, Provost and Chief Academic Officer; and Prof. Vijayakumar “Kumar” Bhagavatula, Interim Dean of the College of Engineering.

The visit also included a tour of the cutting-edge laboratory of Prof. Anthony Rowe, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and core faculty member at CyLab, Carnegie Mellon’s Security and Privacy Institute. The delegation gained valuable insights into pioneering research on real-time embedded systems, wireless sensing, and intelligent infrastructure—technologies that are central to the future of secure and responsive computing environments.

The day concluded with a dinner hosted by Prof. Hyong Kim, Drew D. Perkins Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Program Director of Carnegie Mellon – CMKL | Thailand. The gathering reflected the spirit of shared vision, mutual respect, and a deep commitment to advancing global education and innovation.

At the heart of this collaboration lies a shared academic DNA: like Carnegie Mellon, CMKL University is built on a foundation of interdisciplinary research, real-world impact, and student-centered education. With aligned strengths in engineering, innovation, and forward-looking technology development, CMKL and Carnegie Mellon continue to shape the future of global technology leadership together.
