Prof. Patrick McSharry is a Research Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University, Research Fellow at the Kigali Collaborative Research Centre (KCRC), and Strategic Advisor to the World Bank-funded African Centre of Excellence in Data Science (ACE-DS). He is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and Senior Member of the IEEE. He has advised organizations such as the World Bank, OECD's GPAI, Mastercard Foundation, Google Foundation, International Telecommunication Union and the GSMA Foundation's Inclusive Tech Lab
Formerly a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at Oxford University and Marie Curie Fellow in both the UK and Spain, he focuses on developing AI, machine learning, and data science techniques for automating decision-making and managing risk. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and authored the book 'Big Data Revolution'.
