CMKL AiCE Students Begin Research Internships at Fukuoka Institute of Technology in Japan
Four Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering students will spend nearly three months at Fukuoka Institute of Technology, expanding their research experience through CMKL’s academic collaboration in Japan.
Four students from CMKL University’s Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering (AiCE) program have been accepted into the Research Internship Program at the Faculty of Information Engineering, Fukuoka Institute of Technology (FIT), Japan.
From October 1 to December 25, 2026, Chirayu Sukhum, Bawornpat Rattanapongkiat, Phurich Amornnara, and Thanakrit Punyasuntontamrong will join FIT’s academic community, gaining experience in an international research environment while connecting with faculty, researchers, and students in Japan.
The internship is part of the academic collaboration established through the Memorandum of Understanding between CMKL University and Fukuoka Institute of Technology. The partnership creates opportunities for students to extend their learning beyond their home institution and engage with different approaches to research, engineering, and technology.
For CMKL’s AiCE students, experiences such as this complement an education built around learning through practice. The AiCE program integrates artificial intelligence and computer engineering with project-based learning, research, and real-world problem solving, preparing students to apply their technical knowledge across academic and professional settings.
During their time at FIT, the four students will have the opportunity to experience a new research culture, exchange ideas with an international academic community, and develop perspectives that can inform their future studies, research, and careers.
CMKL University extends its appreciation to the International Affairs team at Fukuoka Institute of Technology for welcoming and supporting the students as they begin their research internships.
As CMKL continues to strengthen international academic partnerships, opportunities like the FIT Research Internship Program provide students with another pathway to build technical expertise, research experience, and the ability to collaborate across cultures and disciplines.
We congratulate Chirayu, Bawornpat, Phurich, and Thanakrit and wish them a rewarding research experience in Japan.
