Mitsubishi Visit Highlights CMKL’s Role in Advancing Practical AI for Industry

CMKL University welcomed representatives from Mitsubishi for an industry visit focused on AI-driven innovation, applied research, and future collaboration opportunities in industrial development.

The session brought together CMKL faculty, researchers, and members of the Mitsubishi team to exchange perspectives on how artificial intelligence can be applied to support manufacturing enhancement, improve system efficiency, and enable more intelligent industrial operations.

CMKL places artificial intelligence at the foundation of its education, research, and innovation ecosystem. The university’s approach emphasizes practical AI engineering, hands-on research, and collaboration with industry partners to ensure that ideas developed in academic settings can be translated into meaningful real-world applications.

During the visit, CMKL shared selected project concepts and research directions that reflect the university’s focus on advanced technologies and their potential role in shaping the future of industry. Discussions explored how AI-powered approaches may help manufacturers move toward more adaptive, data-driven, and efficient systems, while also strengthening the talent pipeline needed for Thailand’s digital economy.

The visit also highlighted the role of CMKL’s AI Engineering Institute, or AIEI, which supports collaboration among academia, industry, and public-sector partners to advance AI engineering capabilities and workforce development. Through initiatives such as AIEI, CMKL aims to connect research with implementation, helping organizations explore how AI can be responsibly and effectively applied in real operational contexts.

The exchange underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between universities and industry in preparing professionals who can design, deploy, and manage AI systems with practical impact. For CMKL, such partnerships are central to its mission of nurturing talent, advancing research, and contributing to Thailand’s broader innovation ecosystem.

CMKL looks forward to continuing the dialogue with Mitsubishi and exploring future opportunities to turn shared ideas into applied solutions for industry and society.
