In collaboration with Friend of Pa Foundation, AIS and PMU-C, the teams at CMKL University and Thailand AI University Consortium is collecting an open corpus for Thai regional speech dialects for e-commerce application. Partnering with universities including Chulalongkorn University, Prince of Songkhla University, Khon Kaen University, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, the teams collaboratively develop and collect regional dialect speech data from local communities & villagers. The dataset is then used to train a deep-learning automated speech recognition model suited for trading-related conversations with native dialects. The work hopes to help accelerate the adoption of e-commerce in remote areas, allowing voice interface to simplify the process for people unfamiliar with eCommerce system to be able to sell local product online.
