Professor Suchatvee (Vince) Suwansawat, Sc.D. is a distinguished Thai academic, engineer, and policy leader currently serving as the Leader of the Thai Kao Mai Party and the Chairman, Honorary Board of Trustees of Trustees, CMKL University, a joint institute between Carnegie Mellon University and KMITL. He holds a Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) and a Master of Science in Technology and Policy, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), making him one of Thailand's most internationally credentialed public figures.
Throughout his career, Dr. Suchatvee has led some of Thailand's most prominent institutions, including serving as President of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and President of the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL). He also chaired the Council of University Presidents of Thailand and the National Housing Authority, reflecting his broad influence across education, engineering, and public policy.
A passionate institution-builder, he founded Ecole 42 Bangkok, and KMITL International Demonstration School, leaving a lasting mark on Thailand's innovation and education landscape.
Recognized globally, Dr. Suchatvee is an Eisenhower Fellow (2012) and recipient of numerous awards, including the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Contribution Award. He has authored over 500 publications, including a best-selling book, Think Different Make a Different, and textbooks on tunneling engineering.
His expertise spans education policy, artificial intelligence, civil and environmental engineering, urban development, and globalization economics.
